Before Rosie, there was Ronnie, The Bren Gun Girl. She was Canada's face of the one million women who took up the call to factory work at home. Veronica Foster was born in Montreal in 1922. After making machine guns for the war, Veronica married a trombonist and fell out of history. No one thought to interview her after the war was over, and she, like most of the women, were asked to go back into the homes and raise families instead of building guns. She died in 2000.
