matrix2013 نوشته شده:داوود اونجا چیزی ننویس. اونو پاکش کن. اگه سوال داری یا چیزی میخوای اضافه کنی همینجا بگو یا میشه یه تاپیک دیگه براش زد.paradoxy نوشته شده:Is Alex scared of dogs?
Or he is scared by dogs?
And of course, when should we use scared at?

I am scared of things یعنی اون ممکنه یا ممکن نیست وجود داشته باشه یا اتفاق افتاده باشه اما وقتی میگیم I am scared by things یعنی قبلا اون اتفاق افتاده که ما by به کار بردیم. چند تا مثال دیگه میزنم
I am scared of ghosts
I'm scared of catching swine flu
I am scared by ghosts
I was scared by a fierce dog yesterday
I'm scared of catching swine flu
I am scared by ghosts
I was scared by a fierce dog yesterday
برای جمله سوم هم میشه این مثال رو زد
I'm scared at the thought of catching swine flu

I am sure as hell that you used this site without even bothering to change examples.

Thanks, That's completely right.
About scared at, i think one should use it when he wants to indicating some action rather than something.

For example i am scared at telling you that your work, is a ****

paradoxy نوشته شده:You too, take care of yourself to not not to get involved on in something unwanted when you have not enough patience for that
Btw, we should use on something or in something, what's difference?
For those who maybe don't know, we can ask questions without using auxiliary verbs in the first place of sentences at the beginning of sentences. It's not grammarly (preferred) correct in grammar, but that it (preferred) doesn't mean, in real conversation, that (preferred) we can't do that it (both are correct) .

paradoxy نوشته شده:[email protected] نوشته شده:paradoxy نوشته شده:Btw, we should use on something or in something, what's difference?Involve is normally followed by in rather than on. Maybe you can use on as it's followed by some special words such as day, website, way, etc.Yes exactly, on is incorrect. but what about involved with? these prepositions are a real pain because there is no simple way to find their correct form
We use with to indicate things, persons, etc.; and in to indicate fields, places, etc.
to become involved with another woman.
to become involved in/with another case.
to become involved in a movement.
to become involved with the problem.

Correct, yet can you tell why in the first place of sentence is incorrect? Of course you can consider at the
first place of sentence as well, i don't think that is wrong. Also about those preferred things i am not agree, see, we are talking, not writing, that means we can talk like we want, however if i were writing a book, i would change some of those things that you suggested. Do this improvement again, i am on it.
What about matrix? Did i go too far and make him really feel that bad?

No I can't!
What about matrix? Did i go too far and make him really feel that bad?
Maybe! Apologize to him as soon as possible, and watch your language from now on.
